Our AdBlue Service

AdBlue service is designed to keep your vehicle's emissions system functioning optimally. Our experienced technicians provide thorough checks and refills of AdBlue, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and enhancing engine performance.

How Does it Work?

AdBlue is a trade name for a solution used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems in diesel engines to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. It is a high-purity urea solution that is composed of 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionized water.

Here’s how it works:

  • Storage: AdBlue is stored in a separate tank in the vehicle.

  • Injection: During operation, the SCR system injects AdBlue into the exhaust stream of the diesel engine.

  • Chemical Reaction: When AdBlue is injected into the hot exhaust gases, it vaporizes and decomposes to form ammonia (NH3) and carbon dioxide (CO2).

  • Reduction Process: The ammonia then reacts with the nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gases within the SCR catalyst. This reaction converts the harmful NOx emissions into harmless nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O).

  • Emissions Reduction: The SCR system, with the help of AdBlue, effectively reduces NOx emissions by up to 90%, contributing significantly to cleaner exhaust gases and compliance with stringent emission regulations.

AdBlue is non-toxic, non-flammable, and safe to handle, though it must be kept free from contamination to ensure the proper functioning of the SCR system. Regular refilling of the AdBlue tank is necessary as part of vehicle maintenance to maintain the emission control efficiency.

Forté Exhaust Crystal Preventer

Forté Exhaust Crystal Preventer has been specifically formulated to prevent blockages and damage to the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and components caused by the formation of crystals.

The formation of crystals in the SCR system can occur in the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (AdBlue) tank, level sensor, fluid pump, AdBlue injector and exhaust system, including the mixer and the SCR catalyst.

Crystals form in the exhaust system when the exhaust gas temperatures are low, a result of driving styles, road restriction challenges such as regular travel in low speed zones and incomplete combustion.

Forté Exhaust Crystal Preventer dissolves crystals that have formed in the exhaust fluid tank, affecting the function of the level sensor and fluid pump.

Use Forté Exhaust Crystal Preventer on every service and when topping up the vehicles Diesel Exhaust Fluid (AdBlue) to prevent the build-up of crystals forming in the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system.
